On November 4, counsel Justyna Karsz served as a juror at the Warsaw preliminaries of the Tournament of Oxford Debates on Social and Legal Matters organized by the Court Watch Poland Foundation in the building of the Voivodeship Administrative Court in Warsaw. The tournament was attended by 8 teams from high schools in the Mazovia voivodeship.
The tournament included 3 rounds in the following debate topics:
– Poland should introduce “instant democracy” exercised by citizens through X-technology.
– The state should use a guarantee of employment instead of forms of fighting unemployment that rely on indirect assistance (e.g., providing activation training, unemployment benefits).
– The nullification of a verdict by a jury should be supported.
At DMS, we are eager to share our experience with younger generations. We will certainly participate in the next Tournament next year!
