Advocate, Senior Associate

Rafał Poniewierski specializes in white-collar crime and criminal fiscal law.

His area of expertise includes, in particular, criminal aspects of business transactions, including market risk and the risk of infringements of criminal provisions. So far, he has represented clients in matters raising social concerns and public debate. He advises members of the management boards of companies from the financial, media, medical and FMCG sector on matters concerning, among other things, fraud, mismanagement, corruption, money laundering and cybercrime.

Rafał represents entities from various sectors in criminal proceedings (as a defense attorney or attorney for injured parties) and in proceedings before public administration bodies. He drafts legal opinions on assessing the risks of violating criminal and fiscal – criminal laws. He tailors procedures to be implemented in case of unannounced inspections by law enforcement agencies (dawn raids) and participates in such inspections.

He qualified as an advocate in 2009.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and the American School of Law of Warsaw University, organized in cooperation with the University of Florida – Levin College of Law.

He also completed with honors the postgraduate “Compliance Officer” program at Lazarski University in Warsaw.
