Maria Niepiekło specializes in civil and business litigation, including company law, disputes between shareholders and between companies and their shareholders, disputes related to the acquisition and takeover of companies and enterprises, as well as securities law and damages.
Maria represents clients in complex cases of litigation before common courts of law and arbitration courts, as well as the Polish Supreme Court and in mediation.
She also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, while intellectual property law and unfair competition law constitute additional areas of interest.
Between 1997 and 2004, she practiced in the international law firm Noerr Stiefenhofer Lutz in Warsaw and Munich, advising foreign clients, mainly from the German-speaking countries. Between 2005 and 2009, she was a co-founder and partner in the Polish company Jara & Partners, providing services to medium-sized and large national and international business entities.
She is the author and co-author of a number of publications in the scope of business law and intellectual property law, addressed in particular to an international audience.
She has been a legal advisor since 1998.
Maria has been with DeBenedetti Majewski since 2009.
A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska in Lublin and the University of Salzburg (Austria), Maria has also completed studies at the Centre for European Studies of Warsaw University.
