Professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, research fellow of the Department of Civil Law. In the years 2008 – 2016 he was vice dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, and Faculty dean since September 1, 2016.
He became a judge in 1990 and a legal advisor in 1992.

Prof. dr hab. Jerzy Pisuliński chairs the Legal Committee of the Polish Academy of Skills in Krakow. A former editorial secretary in Kwartalnik Prawa Prywatnego [Private Law Quarterly], currently a member of the editorial board of the quarterly. A member of program boards of several other legal periodicals. He lectures at Summer School of European Private Law at the University of Salzburg and is a member of the European Law Institute in Vienna.
In the years 2006-2010 he was a member of the Civil Law Codification Committee, becoming deputy chairman in 2011-2015. Between April 2010 and May 2011 he was a member of the group of experts of the European Commission for European contract law.

His scientific achievements deserve special attention. Through his authorship of various publications, Professor Jerzy Pisuliński is believed to be one of the greatest scholars devoted to the legal problem of banking operations. He is the author of a publication on capped mortgages “Hipoteka Kaucyjna”, a co-author of a commentary to the banking law, a commentary to the Act on Land and Mortgage Registers and Mortgage, co-author of “System Prawa Prywatnego [System of Private Law] (author of the chapters on the ownership of premises, mortgages, consumer sales and credit agreements). He has written over 100 articles published in Polish and international magazines, as well as glosses to decisions of the Supreme Court.

Professor Jerzy Pisuliński is the author of opinions on bills for such institutions as the Office of Studies and Expertise of the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the National Bank of Poland and the Bank Guarantee Fund. He was a co-author of the first act on consumer credit, and chaired the team of the Codification Committee of the Civil Law, which worked on the bill reforming the law on mortgages of 2009, and the team that worked on the bill on consumer rights.

Professor Jerzy Pisuliński focuses his scientific interests on contract law (consumer law), rights in rem (in particular security for claims in rem), inheritance law, private banking law (in particular monetary settlements and credit agreements), European civil procedure and private international law.
